Two months isn’t a long time, when you think about going on the block in the Marketplace.

And it was nowhere near long enough to correct what Ma’am called my last little problem. It wasn’t the weight, although nothing I tried to lose weight worked. It was that I was having a hard time convincing myself I could be a pleasure slave to anyone. The thought made my entire body tingle; my face would go red and my hands would shake. Ma’am’s houseguests were allowed to use me however they wanted, and apparently my performances were always exemplary. But at the end of it, all I could do was look at myself in the mirror and shake my head.

After catching me looking in the mirror, Ma’am called me into her office and ordered me to strip.

“Toby... you, my boy, need to own your talents.”

When I heard her use the nickname I tensed up. I tried not to, but I did, and the crop sliced through the air and stung me seconds later. I held firmly to my place, didn’t wince, and took it.

“I didn’t hear you, boy.”

“Yes, Ma’am. I need to own my talents.”

“You are a lovely man, Toby. You are intelligent. You are skilled, on your knees and off them. I’ve seen you manage a household of slaves, leaving them with orders for work and knowing it will get done. You are able to serve in every way you’ve been trained, but you don’t believe that. You just... you disappoint me sometimes, Toby.”

She said the nickname, because she knew I hated it. She tortured me more often with words than with beatings. And mostly it happened when she was disappointed in me.
